J. V. Myrick
Clarkston, Washington

Having grown up, on a cattle ranch, in the Sierra, Madrid mountains of Southern California, the opportunities to study wildlife close at hand were boundless…I started my art career at an early age and still maintain some of my works from that period. I now work sculpting and painting in pastels and oils. My pastel paintings are mostly birds of this region, ands my oil paintings are all landscapes of the Northwest.

Having my bronzes cast in Joseph, Oregon is within a days drive, so I'm able to spend several hours at the foundry, especially during the patina stage. I like to take a hands on approach for each one.

I do several shows a year, traveling though out the Northwest and as far south as Vail, Co. My collectors are a blend of people covering most of the states and some overseas.

My favorite quote: " Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life." Pablo Picasso
