Elloie Jeter

As a child I remember drawing lots of horses.  I was lucky and never
outgrew my love for drawing or my passion for horses.  In fact, they
both blossomed into the life style I live today.

I grew up in southern California where I studied art at Riverside City College;
Cal. Poly-Pomona; CA State U.- San Diego, where I received my BA in
Art; and Palomar College.  In 1980 I fell in love with the Bitterroot
Valley in western Montana and made the move to my present home in
Florence. My fascination with art has impelled me to play in many different and
exciting media. I worked for many years as a production potter,
designed and constructed pieces of hardwood furniture, sculpted in
clay, plaster, plexiglas, blown glass and bronze.  Painting media have
included watercolor, acrylic, pastel and airbrush.

An ongoing interest in photography has enchanted and educated my eye for many decades and has certainly influenced my painting.  I have been
included in regional and national juried and invitational shows since 1972. Art education continues to be important aspect of my painting growth. I have studied painting with such nationally important artists as  Richard McKinley, Delbert Gish, Carolyn Anderson, and Judy Wagner.  In  2004 I was honored to be selected to receive a tuition scholarship  from the Pastel Society of America to paint with master pastellist and  oil painter, Albert Handell.   I have been a signature member of the  Montana Watercolor Society, and am a current member of the Pastel  Society of the Northern Rockies.
