Born in Pennsylvania,
Gary Huber has lived for the past 30 years in the western United States. Always
engaged in some form of artistic expression, he feels he has found his niche in
painting the western landscape. His favorite medium is pastel.
Gary's
art explores the strong natural design of the landscape. He works both from photographs
and occasionally en plein air, relying as much on his memory and imagination as
on the actual scene and photos. He feels that creating representational art is
a way to become closer to the places he loves while sharing that love with others.
His concern is for the preservation of our natural legacy and traditional agricultural
lifestyles.
As founder
of the software company 3D Nature, Gary is proud of the work he has done to bring
together the realms of art, science and conservation. He loves to hike, camp,
paint and photograph in his home state of Wyoming. His travels take him throughout
North America and abroad to gather reference material for his work.
Actively
engaged in promoting the arts, Gary's many activities include organizing and participating
in art shows and gallery exhibitions in his home town and the Rocky Mountain region.
His work has garnered both praise and awards and can be found in collections across
the U.S.
